Introduction

This module introduces the concept of student well-being. It provides information and examples related to different dimensions and to the ways in which schooling can have both positive and negative impacts.

By the end of the Student Well-Being module, you will be able to:

  • Understand the different elements of well-being for children and youth in contexts of crisis, post-crisis and state fragility

  • Recognize the possible positive and negative impacts of schooling and teachers on student well-being

  • Identify context-relevant education strategies that promote and strengthen student well-being, especially related to the positive roles of peers, teachers, parents and community members

  • Develop and deliver appropriate plans to monitor and assess how programs affect student well-being
